Mr. Acosta provides leadership and oversees the firm’s development and preservation activities. His primary responsibilities include major corporate decisions, managing the overall operations and resources of the company, acting as the main point of communication between partners, investors, and stakeholders as well as being the public face of the company.
Mr. Acosta has spent over 27 years in commercial real estate developing strong practical experience in the affordable and market rate multifamily market. His real estate expertise was gained while working some of the nation’s leading for-profit development, syndication, and asset management firms. As a seasoned Senior-Level Real Estate Executive, Mr. Acosta has overseen or completed in excess of $660 million in developments, acquisition, and asset management transactions combined; he is able to produce value added results, developing future growth strategies, implementing appropriate budgetary and cost controls, and securing real estate development, acquisition and preservation contracts. Mr. Acosta also provides a market advantage in Puerto Rico through strong working relationships with architects, developers, general contractors, professional consultants, and government agencies including the Department of Housing and Urban Development, the Puerto Rico Department of Housing, Public Housing Administration, Housing Finance Authority, and several large municipalities.
Mr. Acosta holds an MBA from the Paul Merage School of Business at the University of California, Irvine, with concentration in Finance / Real Estate Development, and holds prestigious professional designations and affiliations; Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM), Certified Property Manager (CPM Institute of Real Estate Management), and a California Real Estate Broker’s License. Mr. Acosta is also a Puerto Rico Builder’s Association – Board Member and in 2018 participated in the Dale Carnegie Leadership Institute program.
